Mind Bender · Jacksonville Beach · Free Roam Reality
Professor Parvus needs volunteers for a small experiment. His shrinking device is almost ready — he just needs a few test subjects. What could possibly go wrong? Everything. You're about to find out how big the world looks when you're microscopic.
The Parvus Box is a whimsical, humorous escape room experience with no jump scares, no horror, and no frightening content. Recommended for ages 7 and up with parent supervision. The puzzles are collaborative and designed for mixed-age groups. If your group wants horror, Don't Scream is the experience for that.
The Experience
You've volunteered for Professor Parvus's groundbreaking experiment — a device capable of shrinking you to microscopic size. The good news: it works. The bad news: it works a little too well, and now the lab isn't cooperating with bringing you back.
Everything you know is suddenly enormous. Blueberries are the size of your head. Fridges tower over you like skyscrapers. Everyday objects become obstacles, tools, and puzzles that your full-sized brain has to solve from a completely new perspective.
The Parvus Box is a 40-to-55-minute collaborative escape room built entirely in free roam reality. Every puzzle builds on the last in a tightly woven story that rewards curiosity, teamwork, and lateral thinking. The size-bending mechanic creates puzzles that simply couldn't exist in a traditional escape room — and that's what makes it special.
This is not a passive experience. You are physically walking through the space, picking things up, manipulating objects, and working with your group to solve problems that change how you think about scale. It's whimsical, it's funny, and it's genuinely challenging.
When you're microscopic, the rules change. A kitchen counter becomes a cliff face. A pencil becomes a bridge. The puzzles in The Parvus Box use the shrinking mechanic to create challenges that wouldn't work at any other scale — and each revelation ties into the next in a story that keeps surprising you right to the end.
What Is Free Roam Reality
Free Roam Reality is a fully immersive experience where you physically walk, move, and interact inside a digitally rendered world. There is no joystick. No sitting in a chair. No cables. You are on your feet, moving through the space with your group using wireless Pico 4 headsets, and what you see matches what your body is doing — step for step, turn for turn.
This is why motion sickness is almost non-existent. Traditional VR makes people nauseous because a joystick moves your view while your body stays still. Your brain rejects the mismatch. Free Roam Reality eliminates that conflict — your movement is your movement. Your brain rarely gets a signal it doesn't expect. In rare cases some guests may still experience mild discomfort, but it is dramatically less common than with traditional VR.
No wires, no cables, no boundaries you can't see. You and your group physically walk through the experience space. Every step you take in the real room is a step in the virtual world.
Your body moves, your view moves. No joystick, no artificial locomotion, no vestibular conflict. The number one reason people avoid VR is almost non-existent here.
You see your teammates in the experience. You can high-five them — for real and in the virtual world simultaneously. This is a shared experience, not isolated headsets doing their own thing.
Designed by Plucky Wombat — specialists in VR escape rooms that use the medium to create puzzles impossible in the real world. Each challenge builds on the last in a tightly woven narrative.
How It Works
Arrive 15 minutes before your session. Your game host briefs your group, explains the controls, and gets everyone fitted with a wireless Pico 4 headset. No heavy equipment, no backpacks, no cables.
Step into the free roam arena and the real world disappears. You and your group are now standing inside the experience — fully immersed, fully wireless, fully free to move.
Navigate a world where everything is enormous. Solve collaborative puzzles that change your perspective on everyday objects. Work with your team — communication is everything. Each puzzle builds on the last in a story that keeps you guessing.
Solve the final puzzle and return to normal size — if you can beat the clock. Your group's time is recorded. Can you beat the fastest escape? Either way, you'll be talking about it for weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Motion sickness is extremely rare with Free Roam Reality because your body moves naturally through the space. What you see matches what your body is doing — no joystick, no artificial movement. If you've tried traditional VR and felt nauseous, that's unlikely to happen here.
Not at all. The Parvus Box is whimsical, humorous, and puzzle-focused with zero horror content, zero jump scares, and zero frightening elements. It's designed for families and mixed-age groups. If you want horror, Don't Scream is the experience for that.
Ages 7 and up with parent supervision. The puzzles are collaborative and designed for mixed-age groups — younger players contribute alongside adults. The Pico 4 headsets need to fit properly, which is why 7+ is the minimum. For very young children (under 7), our physical escape room The Four Kingdoms is a great alternative.
2 to 4 players per session. All sessions are private — your group only. The puzzles require real teamwork and communication, so bring people you collaborate well with.
The game runs 40 to 55 minutes depending on how quickly your group solves the puzzles. Allow approximately 60–75 minutes total including check-in, gear fitting, and safety briefing.
Just yourself and comfortable clothing. Closed-toe shoes recommended. Leave bags and loose items at the front desk. No escape room experience required — the puzzles are intuitive and your game host can provide hints if needed.
Yes — your game host monitors your progress and can provide hints if your group gets stuck. There's no penalty for asking. The goal is to have fun and solve the puzzles, not to suffer in silence.
Absolutely — and most groups do. Play The Parvus Box and then challenge one of our four themed escape rooms, or pair it with Don't Scream for a full evening. Both free roam experiences are $39.99 per person. A typical combined visit runs 2 to 3 hours.
No. Traditional VR puts you in a chair or standing in one spot with a joystick controlling movement. Free Roam Reality puts you on your feet, physically walking through the experience with your group. No cables, no controllers for movement, motion sickness is rare. The technology is in the same category, but the experience is completely different.
